Liz joined the paramedics at Holby A&E in series 9, to partner Josh Griffiths. She was extremely talkative at first, but they got on quite well. An encounter with a madman at the beginning of series 10 caused her to have doubts about the work and about Josh as a partner, but she finally talked to him and felt better.
When Josh's family were killed in series 11, she offered him a temporary home, although her boyfriend John objected. Problems with John caused her to leave him in series 12, and she stayed at Josh's flat. They made a good team, but Liz decided to have a break from Holby and go backpacking in South America, although she promised Josh that she'd come back to Holby eventually.
