Money was raised for a helicopter for Holby paramedics. Later in the series the paramedics saw Josh's family burn to death in a fire at his house; his daughter was brought to Holby A&E but the team were not able to save her.
At the end of the series the staff had to try to save Jude's life when she was stabbed in a hospital corridor.
