Laura was in series 10 of Casualty. She was a PR officer for the hospital. Many of the A&E staff did not get on with her, especially Jude Kocarnik. Laura started a hospital magazine, "The Scanner".
She started a relationship with Martin Ashford (Laura was one of the few people never to call him "Ash"). It was Ash who persuaded Laura to dish the dirt to the local paper about one of the consultants, Henry Reeve-Jones. Ash and Laura were engaged shortly afterwards.
Reeve-Jones at first decided to sue the paper, but later changed his mind and decided merely to find out who had told the paper. Laura was worried about what would happen and was scared of losing her job, but Ash told her he was willing to move away from Holby if necessary so that Laura could get a job. Ash and Laura were married in the last episode of the series and then presumably they did move away.
When Ash returned for Charlie and Baz's wedding, he revealed that the marriage had ended shortly after the birth of their daughter Ella.
